Lazio, who are hoping in the top four, went to Genoa and beat them 2-0, ending their six game home game streak without a loss this year. This win was a good relief for Lazio since it was only their second win in their last six league games. Genoa, who were aiming for their best league finish in ten years, started the game aggressively and put pressure on Lazio early on.
But things changed when Genoa’s Otoa made a bad tackle and got a red card after a video review. Before halftime, Lazio had a good chance, but Genoa’s goalie made a great save. However, just before the break, Lazio scored a fantastic goal with a volley from Castellanos after some nice passing.
Even with ten players, Genoa kept fighting, and their goalie made another excellent save in the second half. Lazio finally secured the win when Dia scored a second goal after a good pass.
Things got a bit strange when Lazio’s goalscorer was quickly sent off after coming on as a substitute. In the end, Lazio got the important win, keeping their Champions League hopes alive and making Genoa’s wait for a top-ten finish continue.
