Tuesday Football Preview: Busy Easter Schedule Continues in England

EPL: Newcastle v Everton At St.James Park on Tuesday, Newcastle United will play against Everton, who are just three points away from the relegation zone in the Premier League. Despite having inconsistent results this season, Newcastle are able to get back on track as they have won four of their last eight games. Their spot in 8th place gives them hope to move to the European spots. Everton are in a difficult situation to move away from the relegation zone. They have not won since mid-December and are struggling to win games while on the road. This upcoming match will showcase Newcastle’s brilliance and Everton’s determination to bounce back this season. EPL: Nottingham v Fulham On Tuesday, Nottingham Forest is set to lock horns with Fulham at the City Ground. Nottingham Forest are in the 17th spot, just above the relegation zone. They were winless in their last 6 games, mimicking the turbulence they have experienced all season. Fulham are in much better form after losing only twice in their last nine games. They showed consistent determination to even go higher in the ranking from the 12th spot. Despite their recent wins against the strongest teams (Manchester United), they are still struggling to change their poor away records.  EPL: Bournemouth v Crystal Palace Bournemouth is scheduled to square off with Crystal Palace in the upcoming Premier League match, with an eye on extending their recent remarkable performances. Bournemouth have maintained their rank to be in the safe spot and are now aiming to move above being in 13th place. Crystal Palace are struggling under the new management of their new coach, Oliver Glasner. In their five recent games, they only managed to secure one victory, highlighting their difficulties this season. This match at Vitality Stadium will test both the current positions of the teams and see who will dominate in this make-or-break clash. EPL: Burnley v Wolves Tuesday’s game at Turf Moor Stadium will give Burnley the chance to avoid relegation as they play against the Wolves. Burnley just need to make up a sizable gap to reach safety. Despite their devastating pointless game in previous matches, they showed a slight improvement in their recent game. Their game against Chelsea extended their unbeaten run to three matches. The Wolves sit comfortably in 10th place, but they still aim to earn three more points to move to 7th place for European qualification. But their inconsistent wins in their recent matches raise questions about their ability to secure a European spot.  EPL: West Ham v Tottenham As Tottenham visit London Stadium on Tuesday, they will face West Ham with the hope of being in the fourth spot again. Tottenham are in great shape this season, being able to rank among the top five scoring teams in the Premier League. They bucked the trend of the third round by securing a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Luton. West Ham suffered a cruel 2-1 loss in their most recent game against Newcastle after leading 1-0 for most of the second half. They will try not to repeat their late collapse in their next match and will trust in their captain, Jarrod Bowen, who kept his shot intact. This will be an intense competition, featuring both teams fighting to achieve their respective goals.

Sunday Football Preview: Crunch Clashes at the Top of the Table

EPL: Aston Villa v Wolves Villa, now in fourth position, are ready to bounce back after two disappointing results. A crucial win is needed to keep their Champions League chase alive and Tottenham are breathing down their necks just three points behind. Villa might have recorded only four losses in their last 18 games, but their recent performances have not been that convincing.  On the other hand, Wolves, under the leadership of Gary O’Neil, have had a solid season. Currently, they are in ninth place and are striving to finish as close to the top as possible so they can earn more prize money. Their recent form is eye-catching: winning three in the last four matches. Moreover, they are free from the relegation battle they faced in previous seasons, with only three losses in their last eleven. Nevertheless, the away games may be a huge drawback. They’ve won at Brentford, Chelsea, and Tottenham recently, but they may be facing a tougher Villa Park with so much at stake for the home team. EPL: Brentford v Man Utd Brentford is still fighting for survival after the international break. Left with only a point from the last five games and stuck in 15th place, the Bees are looking for a win against Manchester United. Their previous 2-1 loss exposed some weaknesses, and this two-week break may give them some time to gather themselves again.  At the same time, Manchester United is in search of the fourth position. They currently sit in 6th place, nine points behind Aston Villa, and must be consistent in their upcoming games. Even though they defeated Everton (2-0) recently, the fact they failed to pick up victories in almost half of their previous games raises eyebrows.  The Red Devils will possibly have some of their key players back after their FA Cup win against Liverpool just before the break. We can’t stress enough that this game is a must-win for both sides, with Brentford needing points to stay afloat and United striving for top four spots.  EPL: Liverpool v Brighton Liverpool can snatch the march from the horse’s mouth if they win in this crucial matchup against Brighton this Easter Sunday, on the same day Man City and Arsenal will go head-to-head. A win for Liverpool would extend their early lead over at least one of their competitors, and depending on the outcome of the following games, Liverpool might be ahead of both of the other contenders.  Although Brighton’s offensive efficiency has decreased, they are vulnerable defensively and have conceded several goals recently. With a 0-0 draw under their belts, Brighton will be a tough side to beat, and Sunday’s match will most likely reveal them as the best side that week. EPL: Man City v Arsenal This weekend, the defending champions, Manchester City, will host the current league leaders, Arsenal, in a battle for the top spot. Arsenal, led by former Mikel Arteta from Manchester City, are worried about ending their year-long winless record at the Etihad and cutting the one-point advantage. Liverpool isn’t far behind in second place, so they might steal all the attention from the City-Arsenal match by winning their earlier game and taking the top spot. City, who are unbeaten in 22 games across all competitions, face what could be the season’s most difficult battle against Arsenal. Arsenal is on a roll, having won eight consecutive games, sending shivers down the spines of others and setting a new team record. They hadn’t conceded a goal in their previous three away games, and their last victory over City came in the last two meetings. Nonetheless, they have a poor track record at the Etihad, with their last victory coming in 2015. This Easter game is a battle that will be decided from now on and the outcome matters to the Premier League’s league position.

Saturday Football Preview: Euro Chase and Relegation Battle Heats Up

EPL: Newcastle v West Ham Premier League teams are now showing their full determination for a European spot, as several teams are separated by just a few points near the top of the table. This Saturday, Newcastle United, currently in 10th place, will play against West Ham United. Newcastle’s reliance on their ability to spread goals around, with 19 different players finding the net. Although their team has been hit by injuries, they can still turn the tables around. West Ham had a chance to move above the spot before the international break, but unfortunately, they did not get more points in the draw with Crystal Palace and Manchester United. Nevertheless, a comfortable win against SC Freiburg showed their ability to be deserving of a European spot. This match between the two teams is crucial as they are fighting for their place in the top 6 of the league as they secure European participation next season.  EPL: Bournemouth v Everton Bournemouth and Everton, both teams that are currently not in an ideal position in the Premier League, will play at the Vitality Stadium. Although Bournemouth, currently in 13th place, look to be safe from relegation, they still need to win their succeeding games to cover up their losses in their last three previous games. Everton are desperate to win against Bournemouth in their Premier League match to secure top-flight status. Being in the 16th place makes them more cautious to avoid being in the relegation zone. This match will give both teams the power to make it to a better spot in the Premier League.  EPL: Chelsea v Burnley In a game hosted by Chelsea on Saturday, they will play against Burnley at Stamford Bridge who themselves are embroiled in a relegation battle. Chelsea are chasing the spot for the European competition next season and are in decent form, having won five and drawn two in all competitions since early February. They have a strong offense that has helped them secure goals in their recent matches. Burnley currently sit near the bottom of the league and aim to turn the tables starting with their game against Chelsea. They will do their best to win points to avoid the relegation zone, just like they did in their game against Brentford.  EPL: Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace A game between Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace is set to happen on Saturday afternoon. Nottingham Forest seems to be in dire straits by not having scored any goals in some of their recent games in the Premier League, resulting in them sitting in the relegation zone. Crystal Palace isn’t quite different by sitting just above a few spots from Nottingham Forest. They have had inconsistent games in their previous matches and only won three of their last 17 league games but still managed to beat some relegation rivals, claiming 14th place. This upcoming match promises to be a tense battle between two struggling teams hoping to make their way up the table. EPL: Sheffield Utd v Fulham A chance for Sheffield United to earn points to go up away from the relegation zone will happen as they battle against Fulham at Craven Cottage this Saturday. Sheffield United is currently seated at the bottom of the rankings in the Premier League, having only won one of their last twelve games. They are struggling with defending and attacking, which puts them in the worst spot. Fulham experienced a successful game this season; they won four of their last six matches, which put them in the mid-table spot. Despite Sheffield’s disadvantage, they promised an intense showing that they deserved to go all the way up.  EPL: Tottenham v Luton A battle between Tottenham and Luton Town on Saturday will feature a game between a team trying to bounce back from their recent defeat and one team moving away from the relegation zone. Tottenham is one of the leading teams in the current ranking of 5th in the Premier League. Despite their recent loss to Fulham, they are determined to get back on track towards a successful season as they chase the Champions League. Luton Town faces some difficulties in strategizing their fight for league survival. They have nine winless games but are eager to fight back by being more consistent in their recent games, leaving them outside the relegation zone.
